Foundation stage (EYFS)

In our reception class our class Saint is Alice Ingham, we start the school day with self registration and table top finger gym provision.
We have morning prayers and complete an energetic 5 a day routine to get our brains active and ready for today’s learning. Miss Kelly sets up the outside classroom as the children listen to a morning story. Once they have completed a brief independent story map and have practised their fine and gross motor skill activities provision is open for children to enjoy freely. Formal input is carried out to small groups to direct their learning with a literacy or maths focus. At approx 11am we have milk and fruit and discuss what we have learned. Phonics follows this which currently focuses on early phase sounds. Opportunities to practise these sounds are then promoted in the inside provision.
We prepare for dinner at 11.25 with a big tidy up of the classroom areas and we wash our hands.
We set off for dinner after we have said prayers.
